FBI closes Hillary email investigation saying new emails "didn't changed our earlier conclu
The FBI has announced it will not make any changes to its July decision on Hillary Clinton's emails, meaning the Democratic nominee will not be charged. FBI director James Comey said that the surprise batch of emails discovered during Anthony Weiner investigation ‘have not changed conclusion’ of inquiry completed in July
The FBI director James Comey wrote in his letter to congress that: "During that process, we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State. Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton."
The investigation was reopened on October 28 after the emails in question were found on Weiner's laptop.
Reacting to the news shortly after 4pm, Donald Trump claimed Hillary in being protected by a 'rigged system'. However, this whole reopening and this hasty closure of the investigation also raises a lot of questions as to why was the investigation was reopened in the first place, as is now evident that there apparently were not enough strong evidence to support its reopening. The reopening of the email investigation has effectively derailed the Clinton campaign and boosted that of Trump, closing the gap between the two candidates. Without a doubt the FBI and its director have damaged their reputation and turned the FBI into a deciding factor in the 2016 presidential election. BTW, this still may not be such great news for Hillary, seeing how the last time Comey announced he was closing the investigation, for the first time, she plunged in the polls. Any talk about the emails is bad and toxic for Hillary, but at least now she can say she put it behind her, until the next time.
